Christmas Trip to Texas

The day after Christmas we drove to Texas to see Marco, Megan and our grandson Alex. It was our first family trip to visit them. After our 17 hour drive we were thrilled to arrive at their home. We enjoyed going to Six Flags and the Zoo. Everyone enjoyed getting to spend time with Alex, he is so much fun. We really enjoyed staying with them!

The cutest grandson in Texas!

Mindy dressed like her favorite animal!

The proud grandparents!!!

How large is your wing span?

We had a great time in the wild, wild west!

Christmas Morning

This is the 30th Peterson Christmas. Christmas morning was especially fun because the Spence family spent the night. It was super fun to have a believer in the house (Cooper). He was really excited for Santa to come to grandpa and grandma's house. Our Christmas morning tradition is to line up all the kids at the top of the stairs, take pictures and then let them free to see what Santa has brought. Oh what fun!

Merry Christmas Grandma (& Grandpa too)

We spoke to our missionary!

Marshall is serving in the Sendai, Japan mission. This was our first Christmas phone call. It was soooo wonderful to hear his voice and feel of his spirit. Marshall sent each of us Christmas gifts. They were wrapped in The Church News. While we spoke to him we each opened our gifts. This picture is of Kameha with my (Julie) gold Buddha from Marshall. We didn't realize that we have our own Buddha baby (Kameha). We did a three way call that also included Megan, Marco and Alex in Texas. It was a wonderful experience to learn about his mission and hear him bear h is testimony in Japanese.

A Note From Marie...

This blog is a Christmas present to my mom from Marie (oldest daughter). My mom is the strongest, kindest, most Christlike person I know. She is not only my mom but she has grown to be one of my best friends. She is an example to me in so many ways. My kids adore her and love "Grandma Julie" day. Every Thursday she comes to my house and watches Kameha so I can go work in Cooper's kindergarten class. She also brings down a craft for her and Cooper to do when he gets home from school. My mom decorates my house, with Cooper's help, for every holiday. Cooper thinks that is what Grandmas do. We went to one of Cooper's friends house the day after Halloween and their decorations were already down and Cooper said, "Oh, look their grandma has already come to their house". Mom I love you and thank you for all your sacrifice in my behalf. Merry Christmas!

A Note From Megan...

Dear Mom,

One or my favorite memories of you is when we lived in CT and everyone was adjusting to the move and you picked a new phrase that you would greet us with when we got home from school. At first I thought it was silly and I would roll my eyes, but after a while I depended on you to bound down the stairs with a big smile on your face and say Hi-de-ho Megan! Now when I am sad I find my self pulling out this memory of you putting your sadness aside and put on a happy face for all of us and finding away to make us smile and laugh. My sadness is quickly put back in perspective and I move on a smile in my heart! You have been a tremendous strength in my life. As I have gone through my personal trials I have looked back on what you have gone through and how my dealt with them and your faith and hope gives me strength to over come my trails with faith and hope in my Heavenly Father. Thank you for teaching me to look for the good in others, to always pray, and to never loose faith. Thank you for being my mother.

Love,
Megan
